Datatagged Bikes

  1. So when I bought my new to me SuperSport S it came with paperwork saying that it was Datatagged.
Turns out that it is but that it’s still registered to the dealer from new.
A quick phone call quoting the visible and stealth numbers listed on the paperwork soon sorted that one out but…
I can’t find any visible sign of any number on the bike anywhere. Datatag tell me that it is registered and that the numbers will be there but that they might be UV inked or even micro dotted. OK I guess, but it would be interesting to know where they are. Anyone sorted this problem out before?

  2. Could also be that the dealer couldn’t be arsed stripping the bike to mark all the fairings, just fitted the tags (wheels, seat and tank) and registered the bike with Datatag.

  3. Don't know if they still do it this way but i found a small round disc in my petrol tank on my 748, half the size of a Smartie sweet.

Datatag will send you a uv light foc if you ask them nicely.

  6. Maybe have a word with the original dealer to see what their normal practice is. You may end up knowing a) whether they did it 'properly' b) where to look for the marks.
My Hyper is datatagged and the visible marks are limited to under the seat.
