After my trip into Wales a few weeks ago on my Hyper 698, with the forecast perfect, work quiet and the sun promised to shine brightly, I took another day off and headed into Wales, this time on the Desert X. Took some back roads through Shropshire, stopped at the Postcard Cafe in Clun for coffee, sat outside in the sunshine in a beautiful spot. Then headed down some classic back roads, first into Knighton and then onto Pen Y Bont. Great roads, little traffic. Skipped the Crossgates cafe and then onto Rhayader. Full of bikes and tourists already. Headed straight through into the Elan Valley where I stopped for lunch watching the lambs grazing, the red kites circling with just the sounds of the birds and the wind and the occasional spray from the waterfall. From there took the same route back with s stop for afternoon tea on the way. Great day out on a great bike. Quiet roads, twisting undulating B roads and perfect spring weather. Til the next one!
