Featured Day Out In Wales

  1. First proper day out in the 698 in Wales, best riding in the UK. Oh my, what a motorcycle for those roads. No need for more than 75bhp when the bike only weighs 150kg.
Best days riding in a long time. IMG_6135.jpeg IMG_6130.jpeg IMG_6122.jpeg

  2. Love Wales, it’s not a bad ride out and back from Staffordshire, Shropshire has some cracking roads too.

  4. Stop off at the Knockin Shop. :D

  5. Maybe

  6. I was reading today that a Motogp bike weighs the same as my 698 ….but has 4 x the power. :D How do they manage to control the things?

  7. Love riding in Wales, shame about the new speed limits.

Pic of my old Multi in the same spot as your first two photos, a great road.

  8. I used to love riding in Wales, but the speed limits & cameras everywhere completely killed it for me. I don’t think I’ve got enough restraint to take my new bike there without ending up in prison!

  9. Go to central Wales. You have to pick the roads carefully but plenty of very quiet roads.
I still don’t think 20mph in a residential street is a bad thing. In an ideal world the roads would be pedestrian only in those areas.

  10. If you go in the week and stay off the main routes you won’t have any bother, I’m in wales a lot riding and have only ever seen camera vans near towns.
As for the 20mph zones, well do as the locals do.

  11. A lot of the roads I enjoy riding these days are not that fast anyway.

Relatively narrow, lots of corners and undulations, if you are doing much more than the legal limit, you are not going to last too long before ending up in a hedge/field/other vehicle.

  12. Indeed it is.

  13. First ride through Wales, glorious sunshine. A5 to Capel curig and then down to llyn gwenant campsite. Was really enjoyable to cruise with the FIL on his royal enfield. But could definitely see myself enjoying it at a faster pace between the villages. Lots of bikers out, and a plus we got to see the northern lights!

  16. That's the B4391 running from Penybontfawr to Bala. Most B roads in Wales are worth exploring, just keep off the A roads is my advice.

  17. Especially at weekends.

  18. I would say anytime but yes more so at weekends. A roads are generally boring and lots of traffic. And policed more.
