I've come across the post detailed below on the 899 Panigale forum. I think the post was submitted by an Australian Gent, I wonder if the Australian Pan's would be the same as the UK models ? Guys i only just realised the 899 is louder than the 1199, well at certain revs. The dB stamp on both bikes reads: 1199 104dB(A) - 5375 rpm 899 108dB(A) - 5375 rpm I cant imagine what the termi kit would do to the noise, as it already sounds like a 50. cal machine gun cheers Armando
believe its quieter with the termis on 105 against 107 ? stand to be corrected ,also heard the 899 is louder than the 1199, last week off some one
Heard the same. Can anyone shed light on this; re track day UK issues? Vis a vis standard can/Termi. Ta.
What is the legal road limit. My 1199 with Termi end cans sounds very loud (too me) not as noisy as a friends Tuono with Leo Vince cans and no baffles.
Was thinking of taking my 899 with Termi's for Easter Monday at Donington. It's a quiet day. What's the chances of me seeing a black flag?
don't quote me but your gonna be disappointed if you pay all that cash and time for nothing, only ever done noisy days there ,what they saying 98db?
Yep, 98db. Went with my KTM Superduke last year. Got black flagged on that as well. Apparently the most sensitive noise meter is near the pit wall on the start line. Spent the rest of the day running out to the right hand side of the track and only giving it full throttle after the start line. No more flags all day. I'm going to give it a try.
Has anyone been to the Ring with a Panigale? Any noise issues? Hoping to go there in August with the Tricolore, on a course but is a long way to go to get black-flagged!
I had a look on nurburgring.org.uk they say the noise level is 95db. Fuuuuuck I'm booked to go first weekend in May I better find my termi's inserts
For the ring stick baffles in and keep it quiet thru the barriers. And if you have a dry clutch keep the bugger pulled in!! Not sure they test the Panis the same at tracks due to where the exhaust exits, tends to be on the drive-by afaik, so if its local pop along but note it may not give conclusive answer especially as different day conditions man make huge difference in noise levels. My DD bike at snetterton was 98db day one, 203 day two...same bike, same tester, same time of day. One cloudy and damp, one dry and warm
Went around the Ring last summer on my 1199 Tricolore, Termies with no baffles - no one was interested!
