De-baffled 848 end-cans

  1. Would love to have a pair of termignoni but i'm a bit strapped for cash this year due to our kitchen extension. Not wanting to miss out on improving the sound of my 848 i've come across these on ebay:

    Ducati 848 / 1098 / 1198 Exhaust Cored & Debaffled - Louder than Termignoni | eBay

Would welcome a honest opinion? For £350, they seem to offer the sound without the price of termi end cans.

Will i need to have a re-map done to my 848 Corse SE?

  2. 113 dB, which is what the add claims, is extremely (possibly excessively) loud.

  3. No such thing as excessively loud

  4. As above, very loud.
    1. Ducati Warranty
    2. Trackdays? Removable Baffles??
    3. Def remap, but then what do you do if you need to put original back on for trackday/MOT
Save up for a full system:wink:

    4. Keep your originals

  5. Believe me things can be excessively loud.

If you want to do long trips and/or trackdays noise has to be taken into account.

With those cans having nothing inside at all they will definitely need an ECU remap.

It's just my advice though and if that's what you want then by all means go for it.

  6. U can get a kit to do your own cans google a&r baffles. There from the US only 110 dollars I don't know how much they would be posted.

  7. Yea same as what Rich posted

  8. Buy a standard set and de-baff your self.

Quite a few threads on various forums on how to do....:upyeah:

  9. I use a 848/1098 can on my DD bike. Its well modified and occasionally fails noise tests. I bought a pair of 848 in excellent condition delivered for £75. Deconstruct which is straight forward and took the cat out that was the hardest part, about 2 hours.

Then put back together and modified the inlet to suit my system, I now have a scrutineering can that passes race noise tests which is a max of 105db @5.5k RPM. It comes out at around 100db which is a bit too noisy for track days.
