Dear All Any of you wizards out there can help me pls.. I've just fitted a Leo Vince de cat kit on my hyper 796 ... All went well, but the instructions are very poor .. The kit supplied a blank off bolt for the long downpipe eg the front cylinder, at the moment I have that fitted and she runs great, however the engines management light is perminately on now, I suspect it's die to the not now fitted pipe sensor... My bike also has the termi twin end cans plus revised air box cover and DP ECU ... Your advice would be very helpful Thank you
If you leave the bike to idle for 15 minutes, without touching the throttle, I believe the ECU will accept the new configuration and the light should go out (told to me by a bike-shop mechanic in newcastle)
The ECU is looking for the sensor, hence the error light. Once it's on it stays in the ECU memory, as part of the DDS (Ducati Diagnostic System), which can be read and cleared by your dealer, or someone with the right kit! Unless you fit the ECU which has the Lambda sensor disabled (eg, the "DP full system" ECU) then the light will stay on. You may also have problems with it running correctly as the bike does not know how much to adjust the fuelling by - this is what the sensor is for. You could end up running too rich, or you could end up running too lean.
