Dearest Desmosodici Yet?

  1. I think someone bought a new one on this forum last year from another Forum member for around £40K?
They are asking £65,000 for this one :Wideyed:

  2. Surely if they are appreciating that quickly it's time for mr exige to invest in one for his pension pot?
That would make a marvellous centre piece ;)

  3. Mr Exige has no money - just lot of bikes  but I doubt they are appreciating that quickly! But people doing this does tend to over inflate and force prices northwards, There's an RC30 with about 16000 miles on Ebay if I remember rightly - asking circa £25K - this would have been £15K in the same shop last year as they had one similar for sale!

  4. They can ask £65,000 for it.whether they get that sum is another matter.Unless you are extreremely clever or lucky with your investments you have to take the long term view, whether it is motorbikes, paintings, shares, etc.
However if you buy that bike to ride and enjoy that is another matter,if your pockets are deep enough.:)

  5. Similar to that shop The Bike Specialists that have a foggy rep and a 955 for 35k and 32k respectively. Both about 10-15k too high. Especially when there are other foggy reps listed for 1/2 the price. Theyve had them for ages and still not sold.

  6. Totally agree, but they do shift bikes at silly prices - not a quick turnover of stock, but they sell some overpriced stuff...

  7. the longer you hold them without selling, the greater the overheads. Better to turn over quicker. Besides 35k for a foggy rep? No way Jose.

  8. I could have turned over 2 of mine for 100% profit within weeks, but couldn't part with them so soon. You are right though. I didn't want to become a part time dealer as such and have kept all I bought other than selling a 999S when I got the 2 R's.

  9. Thats fine if its just you. A sole (i was tempted to edit this bit) trader with no overheads. But if you have a shop etc, it is better to have quick turnover.

  10. Is it brand new with 3 yr warranty and servicing?

  11. Not a clue but check his other items out - not really in keeping with your average Ducati Dealership!

  12. Don't bother getting too enthusiastic people. It'll be mine by tomorrow lunchtime. I'm just waiting on a few numbers in the Euromillions....

  13. Dave paid £50k for his new one, with the servicing.

Sold my mint 10k mile rc30 about 4 years ago for £9K

  14. That's a lot of dosh, you could buy a brand new Kawasaki for that money.......

  15. Mine was the dearest one.

Rebuilt engine including new crank £19k

    Replacement engine £21k

    Replacement tail unit £6k

    Full refund £40k

Plus other stuff I have forgotten.

  16. No. From the description the bike is being sold by a non-Ducati dealer and it was previously in a private collection. The 3yrs warranty and free servicing would have started when the bike was sold by Ducati to the first owner, so it would probably have expired by now.

I bought mine from Ducati Glasgow two years ago so I have another year of warranty and free servicing to go.

  17. I agree with Dave as I was chatting to my local dealer about this very bike and he said it wouldn't qualify for the 3 year warranty and servicing.
