959 Decat - Noise?

  1. Has anyone decat'd a 959 - wondering if it makes any difference to noise levels? Its track bike only, so has to stay below noise limits basically.

Am planning to keep the twin shotgun exhaust (the Akra one not hte stock dustbin rubbish) and currently about 97-99DB so got a few to play with as such

  2. Not quite as straightforward I’m afraid. All the noise mitigation is done in the catalytic converter, remove it and the road legal Akrapovic will rattle windows and set car alarms off. Don’t know about the 959 but the cat delete on the V4 is loud. The race can db killers at one time I was riding, claimed a reduction to 107db which gets you black flagged everywhere in the UK, except Donington on a noisy day. The Ducati accessories page is playing up so couldn’t check if the homologated (road legal) Akrapovic comes with db killers but I wouldn’t put money on it. Andy
