:Bag: I do appreciate that this thread question is not that dis-similar to one I posed previously regarding the Fatduc O2 manipulators, but for those on this forum who have taken the decat' pipe out, mainly to deal with the absolutely hopeless exhaust valve, which constantly seizes up, no matter how much or what attention it is given, what is the best set-up that people have found, which works for them? I have an Akrapovic end can, which I want to retain and do want some form of in-line noise management and of course need to 'fool' the servo into thinking the EV is still attached and working, so what have other Mutli owners opted for and would recommend?:Nailbiting:
When it comes to decat pipes those people in the know (Chris at CJS) rate the Leo Vince highly. Something to do with the equal length header pipes. The pipe is a nicely made piece of kit and comes with a cam which fits to the exhaust valve motor. This fools the ECU into thinking that the exhaust valve is still attached and working. Otherwise you'd get an error. Fitting the cam is a bit of a pain but if you take the time to access the exhaust valve motor you can remove the cable instead of keeping it in place and using the washer and spring solution favoured by some. Other than the Leo Vince there's a new kid on the block when it comes to decats. Can't remember the name but a search of the forum will find it. Might even be cheaper than the Leo. Presuming you can match the Akra can to the decat you will then have a smoother running bike with a stronger mid range and it sounds much better too. The next stage would be to have it remapped e.g. CJS. to make the fuelling absolutely perfect. At this stage the exhaust valve motor will be deactivated and the useless lump can be removed altogether.
I've got the mivv decat plus suono, it's loud but not that bad. If you don't want loud then leave the cat in place. My bikes running rich at the minute but it was prior to changing anything and that was following a remap at cjs so presume he set the map up that way (previous owner had it done) I'm going to add a better filter (K&N or pipercross) to see if it leans out a bit, if not ill do the airbox mod on the left side to get a bit more air in. With the mivv you get a spring and few gubbins to fool the servo but I haven't used it as the cjs remap had disabled it anyway.
I had the Mivv gihbli....advantage is the gihbli has an a removable noise reducer at the back of the can....Chris doesn't rate the Mivv exhaust....but I was happy with it....tried the Termi end can but it was too loud.... Also did the spring thing to fool the exvl which worked fine until Chris deactivated it! (A bit flimsy though so I did a mod which I posted on Andy's info website ) Most important thing is to get rid of the decat and exhaust valve....
Hi Bradders...yes you're right you have to limit the travel on the actuator to make it think that the valve is still there. Chris of CJS will disable this function during the remap work, but in the meantime you'll need to limit the amount the servo moves. Leo Vince do a nice cam. Others on here (pls search) have done things with springs from biro's, paper clips and such like. Take your pick. I've a Leo Vince decat and carbon end can...very nice sound (nearside air box opened). Silly loud if you take out the removable baffle (single allen bolt / cap screw). +150BHP at the rear wheel and where allowed +150MPH (GPS speedo...not the Ducati one).

Speedycom Performance Ltd... I bought a servo buddy. A bit pricy for what it is but easy to install. Just un plug the servo and plug the servo buddy into the loom. Job done.
I have an SC project exhaust and got mine tuned at Moto Rapido in Winchester. What a difference! As he has already done the mts and the SC decat on the dyno, the program is a little cheaper and takes half an hour to do. Give them a ring and ask for Wilf. The SC project exhaust is well made and well priced. It took about 3 weeks for delivery. The programme negates the O2 and the valve in the exhaust. My bike is smooth and makes superb power with a much crisper throttle response. I hope this helps.
Be careful with the exhaust servo, its very easy to strip the teeth off if you force it to move, tempting when trying to remove the cable....
