Interesting how Pedrosa hardly gets mentioned when people talk about racing......just Marquez, Lorenzo, Rossi and Stoner. Time to enjoy a rant about the Umpa Lumpa. BIKE ME! | Quod licet iovi, non licet bovi Just a sample : Stoner broke his fragile spirit when he arrived on the scene at Repsol Honda and handed him his arse. Suddenly he couldn’t make excuses about the bike, so he just spent more time sooking in the pits. Now Marc Marquez has arrived and made him look like a complete twat. It took him all of 5 minutes to beat Pedrosa on a bike that was developed around him. Moreover, the Marquez scenario is the Sharknado that terrifies Pedrosa: a teammate who swept into the class with a wave of excitement, is also Spanish, faster than he is, younger, and more popular than himself.
That's a truly pathetic rant from someone who clearly hasn't done anything with their life. Doesn't even merit a comment, let alone a posting here.
if pedrosa didnt have 2 dnfs and a broken collarbone. this could have been his year. he has such bad luck and its a shame that a talentless yank such as hayden won a championship
I have just read the artical and it is a nasty rant and sombodys opinion that does not make it fact ,i have always thought that pedrosa was ok and it was Stoner who was a knob but that is only my opinion
I think pedders is alright bless him, he's blisteringly quick on his day and to be fair if MM hadn't wiped him out this last race it was very possibly his to lose. Everybody is having the big 'love in' with MM which I get to a degree but ultimately I don't like him, I don't know why, maybe it's the permanent grin he has fixed to his face, maybe it's the way he's been spoon fed the best bikes and rules bent to accommodate , or maybe it's because I simply don't like mainstream and where the sheep will follow I tend to go the other way. anyway, pedders for president!
It's a rant rather than a reasoned argument isn't it.....that's the point of a rant? i posted it as I read it and had a couple of chuckles. It also struck me that apart from a couple of articles on how flimsy the wee one is, it's the first thing I've read which comments on his character (something which most Stoner pieces seem to relish). Personally I'd rather read a Matt Oxley piece but this (in my eyes) is a bit of poked fun Maybe I'm not widely read enough but either way, sorry if anyone's easily offended
No offence at all mate, all you did was post something up about pedders, he's a big enough........hang on, no he's not is he
A midget in an ewok costume in the next Star Wars. Love it. Fundamentally he won't ever win a moto gp title, he is the randy mamola of the past decade without the personality. Yes he is fast on his day, but he doesn't have that killer instinct and the past few seasons he has spent a fair amount of time whingeing about other riders, MM at the last round, super sic 58, couple of years ago. I actually don't mind him but he doesn't do himself any favours.
I thought that rant was a piece of odious vitriolic bile without a shred of substance, written by an armchair supposed "enthusiast" who hasn't got a clue what he's talking about and hides behind a noddy pseudonym. Pedrosa has won the 250 championship and plenty of Moto GP races, many of them smoking the opposition. Sure, he's probably had a top bike, so what? So he's not a massively media-friendly guy. He's shy and retiring. Does that make him an arsehole or a parasite? His interview with Azi, or whatever she's called, showed him in a favourable light. OK, it's all PR but again, so what? People who write such bollox would probably shit themselves braking from 200 mph at the end of a straight and trying to negotiate a corner, holding their place against a lot of other racers. Of course, if "Bedlam" wants to present us with his racing credentials I'm all ears. He's surely won a few championships or TTs himself. Yeah, right. Pedrosa has undeniably been unlucky, and you need a dose of luck to win a world championship (ask Nicky Hayden). He has been injured on numerous occasions. Had he not been, his Moto GP record might look a bit different.
I feel genuinely sorry for Pedrosa. He's had some rotten luck but on top of that I don't think he's ever going to win the championship as over the course of a season he's up against stronger and better riders. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously bloody good but is he lacking that 5% needed? He was super-strong at the end of last season but it was all too late. He was winning races against Lorenzo who didn't need to take risks to win and Stoner who had a fucked ankle and was retiring with no chance of winning the championship.....if he hadn't been winning there would have been some serious questions asked. Is Pedrosa as good/as strong as Lorenzo? Stoner? Rossi (in his prime)? Marquez? Nearly.......very nearly in my opinion.......and that must get annoying....especially if you then have to face the media. It's no wonder he (and Stoner) were miserable from time to time. And please none of this 'best job in the world, they should do it with a smile on their face' nonsense. These riders are there because they have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to getting to the pinnacle of the sport. They have more invested in this than anyone and if I'd made it there I know I'd be serious about winning....not coming third.....winning.
Not in the pedrosa fan camp myself but bad luck and pedrosa go together like Wimbledon and short skirts. Poor bugger: always the bridesmaid..
Anybody who can win 24 MotoGPs and never win the championship deserves sympathy. DP has won MotoGPs in every one of the last eight years. Who else can match that?
Totally agree with the above, just because he keeps himself out of the media, and hasn't nailed that elusive motogp title doesn't diminish any of his other titles or race wins. AC
Also wasn't it Rossi who went into the HRC garage to apologise? Not the other way round? Not really a DP or MM fan tbh, but MM has made DP look embarrassingly stupid when you consider there respective MGP title class races. However that should be no surprise really when you see how Casey Stoner also embarrassed DP on the Honda too. HRC should've ditched DP many years ago, but they were scared that Repsol would withdraw the sponsorship too. Well HRC have a new VR in MM and Repsol bankrolled him all the way. Time to ditch Pedrosa tbh and move on. Too much talent waisted in the wings of Moto2&3, but on inferior MGP machinery.
