  1. I am looking to buy a new bike maybe.

    I am looking for an "R" model so....which one do people think is "best" (from a cost/value/fun perspective):

    749R

    999R

    1098R

  5. I think a 749r carbon would be great but if u want the looks (subjective) 1098r but they are big money

  7. Your budget is going to make the decision for you. The cheapest is probably going to be the 749. There have been 3 or 4 1098Rs on ebay for a while that haven't sold at the asking price. There is a nice one up north been reduced to £12500. Not seen any 999Rs at all recently so no dea what money they are making. I have been looking at the 1098R simly because IMO it is probably the best (real world) bike Ducati have made. Andy

  9. One of the 916 family. Everyone knows they are the most beautiful motorbikes ever built. Just scored 1st place in MCN's thingy. What more can I say?....

  13. Yes, but it's a track bike with no original fairings etc.
    Looking to buy an R with all the original bits n bobs so that it holds its asset value as well as being fun!

  19. Think the first 749r is the best as it has more stuff then any bike after and there are less of them about. People raced a lot of these and destroyed a lot so they are I think a bit rare. Plus the yanks seem to destroy r spec bikes when they can't sell them by parting them out.
