just scored a new customer that noticed the bikes parked in the corner, anyhoo got chatting and it turns out he competes in thi desmo duo series, sounds like a good inexpensive way into racing, any one on here do it.
there's another bike available here.. Ducati 600ss / monster desmodue race bike / track bike | eBay not mine
cool, i dont think it will happen this year, but didn't realize racing was that accessible so never gave it a second thought. will see how it pans out with m.hamilton.
Great way to get into racing. Its about corner speed, not straightline speed, and you're not approaching corners at 180 so not so scary ;-) Good paddock, easy to work on bikes, cheap to run. £1500 can easily get you a ready to go bike, entries arent too bad at c£220 for the weekend and tyres are a snip at c£140 a pair...and depending on where you run and how hard you ride you can get half a season out of a pair Circuits this year include some perfect ones for you northern monkeys ;-) Anglesey, Croft, Oulton, Cadwell and even Knockhill.
So if I get my ACU sorted on 2nd march, get a ready to race bike, and do whatever I have to do to go go Desmodue racing, can anybody point me in the right direction of where to begin ??
I did a couple of seasons, as did Kenoir the bikes are slow but the racing close, and you learn about corner speed... Amazing how a little 60hp bike can lap quicker than an R1 in the. Right hands ;-)
