Same set up as 1098/1198 and i've had no bad news from using Bendix MRR on those Dave. Warm up quite quickly and hold up well once up to temp.
i use SBS dual carbon pads on my yamaha race bike ..awesome things speed is speed so im sure they would work as well on the duke as they do on my yamaha pulls up from 170mph to a 60mph hairpin in milliseconds ! they seriously are that good. i also run castrol SRF racing brake fluid it all helps
Dave, Don't know about you, but I need to get used to how hard I can actually brake on this bike without losing the front - so my nerves are the limit for me rather than my pads at the moment! I bet I can brake 100x harder, but not sure I want to learn where the limit WAS......! Monoblocks are awesome brakes and my stock Brembo pads have always been good, but they have quite a lot of initial bite which make the front dive quite quickly regardless of damping as they are quite snatchy....
Yes, I've only just had the first service so haven't ridden the bike that hard yet, but I'd heard as much. That's why I'm looking to maybe take some alternatives to Portimao.
I've also got a set of SBK sintered racing pads, but not tried those yet so can't compare. Might put them in for the next track day, but I always usually replace them when they are worn out, and there is still loads in the old set.... Must try the change and see. Will let you know, but I am not back out on track for a while yet...
Dave The std pads will be fine. Believe me that front end with those monoblocks and the standard Desmo front caliper will have the back end weaving around with two fingers. Just get some heat into the front tyre and go for it. Greg
