Rang Devitts to get a multi-bike quote for my girlfriend. Everything as you'd expect and got a competitive quote. During my conversation I was unsure of one question and I managed to get a letter wrong on the registration number for her new bike she has purchased and is waiting delivery for. Anyway, I said my girlfriend will ring them to confirm the details and they were very obliging and I was quite happy I'd secured a decent deal for her. Or so I thought! She called them yesterday, corrected the registration and answered one question I was unsure of and that was "what date she passed her car test!". I remember at the time saying why is this even relevant for motorcycle insurance, to which the reply I received was it's just what the underwriters want to know!. Long story short, they re-quoted and increased the premium by £150.00! Annoyed is an understatement. They seem to be able to make my blood boil so easily!! So, after that conversation she never signed up to it and spoke to her existing insurance company Bennetts about single insurance for her new bike. I won't even go into this one but needless to say once again it's left a bitter taste and I am dreading my renewal in June later this year with my insurance. This continuous bull spouted by brokers and insurance companies and their constant conquest to screw their customers has got stop, So this prompted a thought. Do you think it would be handy to create a website/blog to identify all the scams these parasites get up to. Maybe a reference site to help bikers and car drivers alike to be weary of the pitfalls and the efforts they go to to wind you off the clock and rip you off. I'm thinking all the questions you should ask in some form of tick-list in a downloadable format that can be sent to the broker or whoever as confirmation of your agreement/discussion? Dunno, just a thought, maybe give me some ideas too.

Thanks for that. Very interesting and extremely annoying at the same time. Spoke to my broker after reading that thread and it has highlighted more questions and potentially a policy which wasn't as good as I was led to believe...what a surprise. :Banghead:
