Diavel Swing Arm Cover Paint Wear Issue

  1. Hi all

Interested to get any perspective and/experience regarding the swing arm cover on the diavel.

My bike is 2 years old next week, diavel carbon.

After 8months of ownership and approx 3k miles a patch on the swing arm cover had become smooth and metallic instead of the rough Matt black surface that the part should be covered in.

It appears this has happened as my heel is rubbing on the swing arm cover there.

I wear soft/Alcantara boots (Ducati branded TCX boots).

I raised this with my dealer... and to cut a very long story short ... Ducati refused a warranty claim.

So I’m now left with the need to fix this.

    Two options:
    1) get it resprayed and have a tougher finish applied.

    2) get a carbon swing arm cover (found a Matt carbon one that matches the Ducati carbon per fiercely)

    Questions:

    a) how easy/possible is it to remove the swing arm cover for it the be taken to be resprayed?

    b) has this happened to anyone else? If so what action did you take?

Any further advice would be gratefully received!

    Cheers

    Ant

  2. Isn’t the swingarm cover there to allow your heel to rub without damaging the actual swingarm?

  3. Not to the
Not to the point of wearing the paint off... it looks like it’s been dropped ...

But I’m theory... yes. Hence it should be more robust

  4. Mind me asking which swing arm cover you have found.

  5. This one is an absolute match to the Ducati carbon when seen “in the flesh”

However the linea moto ones are also very good...

  6. I have the llmberger matt carbon rear hugger, very good fit and quality. Does match the Ducati carbon well.

I'd pay the little extra for this one.
