Diavel to Multistrada S GT

  1. What a difference!
I loved the Diavel, but hated it too!

On the Diavel's 10th trip to dealership, this time out of warranty, I took out a MTS S with skyhook overnight whilst they had a look at Diavel.

I took my wife out on MTS and was sold, not just on comfort, but its superb two up charateristics too, I almost didnt know my wife was on the back, furthermore, she loved the comfort too, always a bonus when considering a change!
Another thing I liked, an engine that never ever gave the impression it was going to stall, unlike Diavel!

Dont get me wrong, the Diavel is an awsome machine, but I just lost faith in it; you can only take so much before it wears you down to the point of almost hating it, yes it became that bad.

I want to do some touring next year with my wife, and saw a new GT in dealership just out of its crate. Loved the colour and its got all the 'bells and whistles' on which I would have retrofitted to a MTS-S.

    So a deal was struck!

Sat in my garage is a new GT!

I am not overkeen on the giant panniers on the GT so I threw in my Hepco and Becker C-bow luggage with Diavel and got some of the smaller lids for GT, keeping the originals should I sell it.

Sadly due to minor building works in house and shite weather, Ive only got 50 mile on it, but hoping to change that this weekend.

  6. Thanks for welcome!

Seems to be a friendly forum?
Unlike the Diavel one with the Americans vs Aussies! Lol

Went out for about 100 mile ride yesterday, got caught in rain :-( - easier to clean too when comparedvwith Diavel :)
Quite pleased with weather protection considering its only got a screen and no leg shields etc.

Thought Diavel was comfortable, but MTS even more so.
Nice to be able to lean it around corners without pegs dragging!

Tried out heated grips as it was down to 10 degrees C but even on minimum, they got too hot!

One minor issue I have is with headlight alignment. Ok I well built at around 17 stone, but even with preload setting at 2-up (I was on my own) with only top box on with a helmet in, I was still dazzling cars!
Going to try and realign it today.

  7. Thanks for offer of visit in Cornwall VJ.
Same applies if youre ever in Lincolnshire - great roads, very little policing too!
