Did I dream this thread up? Where to buy a new master cylinder

  1. Hi folks,
I seem to remember a thread a few months back where people were buying radial master cyclinders from a place in Italy at a good price. Did I dream this up?? :)

Anyway, I'd like to purchase a new master cylinder for both brake and clutch on my 996 - Any recommendations for the MC and also where to purchase?
I have the 4 pad non-radial calipers if that makes a difference?
    Thanks

  2. The spacing of the attachment bolts will also need to be factored in. At some point in time the Showa fork leg changed. Not 100% sure but I believe the early spacing is 45mm and 65mm for the later models. Andy

  3. Only place i can think of in Italy would be BURSI EVOLUTION. Loads of nice parts at good prices.
I've got the same calipers on the SPS and run a brembo 19X20 brake MC which is great on track, loads of power with little lever travel. It might be a bit strong on a greasy wet road when i plank cuts you up, so if you're going to use on the road one of the adjustable ratio type might be good as it can be softened up, i use an accossato adjustable ratio MC on my road bike, exact same levers as brembo and from what i can tell same quality. For the clutch i use an 18X16 MC as the clutch doesn't need to flow the same amount of fluid but does need a fair bit of lever travel to keep sensitivity.

  4. Oh yes, they'll be fine. Nice find that. Always nice to have another supplier on hand.

  5. Moved to Superbike

  6. Yep - I ordered them from CarpiMoto, great service, Fedex delivered two days later. I also needed the reservoirs so I ordered them at the same time and got free delivery on the lot.

Saved a fortune on the rip-off, price rigging, UK dealers.
