Did Supersport Tanks Come With Grey And Black Pads?!

  1. Help me out here because I'm not sure I'm not going nuts.

    My 900SS injection model 1999 is red with a black tank pad. Yet I've recently seen red injection model tanks on eBay with a grey tank pad. Was this some kind of EU market / US market difference, a trick of the light, or what?

    Surely Ducati didn't make bikes in standard colours with grey tank pads and trim / seats as well as with black tank pads and seats etc? Thanks :)

  2. I think the pads changed to grey with the model update to 1000 SS, 800 SS & 620 SS in 2003.

  4. Later SS/IE's were fitted with grey tank pads, my old '02 model 900 had grey sprocket and belt covers too...
