Do I Need A Ducati?

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Italianfan, Sep 9, 2016.

  1. Hi, I'm new to the forum. I collect vintage Triumphs (1925 Model P, 1934 L2/1 and 1939 3HW Tiger 70) and Italian exotica (1979 Laverda Jota, 1971 MV Agusta 350 race bike, Mk1 Guzzi Le Mans, MV and a few Agusta 125s), as well as a trusty 1984 Honda CB1100RD.

I'm looking to add a classic Ducati to the collection and am toying with the idea of an early 916 from 1994/5 or a 900ss from the late 1970s.

  3. Welcome Dave and the answer is "yes of course you need one" :)

  4. ...or should that be 'you'll get a bad ass' on a 916?........only kidding:upyeah:

  5. Every body needs a Ducati :)

  6. Buy a new one. It'll become a classic soon enough.

  7. welcome - have you got motorcycle ocd by any chance ? :upyeah:

  8. Of course you do! You've got a lot of inferior Italian bikes, so why wouldn't you want a Ducati.

  9. I don't 'need' any of my bikes. But I want them, and that's what drove my decisions.

  10. Show us some images fgs or you pulling my big one.

    ps: Welcome

  11. So I guess an early 916 would be the best long term fun / investment purchase?

  12. I was considering the same but when watching the prices, the 996/998 seem to be a better bet, UNLESS you find either a team race 916 or an absolute minter with low miles.

  13. Comments

This might tick all the boxes if you have £25,000 burning a hole in your pocket.

  14. Yes and red :)

  15. Get a prototype of one. There is a Ducati workshop In Italy knocking em out as ' bitsas' and selling as secret prototypes. Ask @Exige , he bought one. !

  16. I have been accused of making it :Finger:
