Doc john hinds crashed at skerries last night, appears he is in a critical condition....he's the flying doctor you see at all the Irish road races. Update....it's now confirmed Dr John Hinds has passed away.
Truly Tragic. Doc Jon was a legend, I was treated by him a few years back in NI while I was racing although I wasn't badly hurt, just a mild concussion. Paul Shoesmith really summed it up today by saying 'There will be many racers who will not try as hard knowing that John is no longer 30 seconds away' There is a pentition going around facebook to try and get an Air Ambulance for NI, something John was working hard to get, if you see it. please sign it. He has saved many lives and his orange helmet will be missed at all the races now. RIP John, it was a honour and a privilage to have known you.
RIP. A sad loss to Irish Road racing and Craigavon Area Hospital. Please support in Memory of Doc Jon https://www.change.org/p/the-norther...m_medium=email
Great wee clip here showing the sort of man he was off the bike as https://www.facebook.com/Lock9TT/vid...type=2&theater
If you can find the time, watch this, it's a brilliant view of his role delivered to his peers, the subject matter is fascinating but the humour with which it is delivered is the stand out. A stand up guy r.i.p https://youtu.be/MsZBXlTHPCg
an excellent video,,, had the honour of seeing him at 3 races in NI earlier this year.. watching him was as much fun as watching most of the racing !!
