Does anyone have?......

  1. Hi,

Does anyone use the official double bubble screen from Ducati on their 848/1098/1198? Can you share pictures?

I have been noticing that with my Shoei X-Spirit 2, if I tip my head really far forward I don't get much wind-buffeting. However at normal riding it doesn't work at all, not experienced this before.

I just wonder if a slightly higher screen would push the wind up a little more.

  2. Look poo mate ear plugs is the answer

  3. Ear plugs won't stop the buffeting.

  4. Works for me makes a world of difference !!

  5. How does that stop the wind smacking your lid about? Might ease the noise but not the helmet shake.

  6. Yeah I wear earplugs, it's strange but the x-spirit 2 is brilliantly aerodynamic at the right angle and u almost can't feel any buffeting, however bars/seat combo means I can't really tip my chin enough to make it work; I don't want to buy a new lid, just wondered if others had the screen. My Arai is a nice lid but horrid for buffeting all the time so at least the Shoei is generally ok

  7. I think my 1098R has the official DP double-bubble screen, I'll take a pic of it for you.

It's much better than the standard screen, a lot less buffeting.

  8. Here you go

I ride with an XSpirit2 as well, and find any turbulence to be a non-issue. (I'm 5'11")

  9. When I bought my 1098s it had the double bubble screen on. I imagine it was a DP performance item as all of the other accesories were at the time. I hated the look of the bike with ot on and reverted back to standard.

Here's the before and now pictures.

  10. I have the official Ducati tall screen, not the double bubble one. It transformed the buffeting on my 848. I've never ever had a problem with windblast before on naked bikes or sportsbikes but the stock screen is truly crap. I didn't like the look of any other ones so went for this one. It was dear, but it's superb... and I really like the look of it too, but wasn't 100% sure at first.

  11. This pic is a little better as it's not jacked up on the paddock stand...

  12. andy youv failed, no in the bins in the background .

  13. Haha, yes well caught. I think bins are about the only thing that aren't in the background of that pic. My wee boy had pretty much all his outdoor toys out in the garden that day.

  14. Thanks everyone for the responses :) much appreciated, will look into it. I don't like the double bubble ones really so will prob get the one like Andy's

  15. Clear version, recently bought from Snell's if you don't like the tinted version

  16. Brill thanks guys, I can get discount I think so I may look into this one, probably in Clear so it looks similar to the standard one. I guess though they are rivets so it's not really an easy job to do at home?

  17. I didn't know you could get clear ones. It was a clear one I wanted in the first place but went with the tint as a bit of a gamble. Turns out I really like it, but the clear looks closer to stock and less obvious.

  18. Clear was already discontinued, found some at Snell's after Sheffield told me that they had & promptly posted me a standard screen (that I think was secondhand as well), which led to an interesting few days...

  19. Allen screws with the smallest of heads on my 2012 bike, smaller than any of my keys, luckily a neighbour had a mobile phone repair kit.
