As the title says.... I'm going to get rid of the airbox and fit socks over the stacks like I did on my Monster S4. However as my bike is heavily modded, removing the seat pad so I can lift the tank to get at the airbox and stacks is a bit of a faff, I've not had time to do it today and it's now dark and cold outside. If anyone happens to know both the measurements of the diameter of flared bell mouth and the "shaft" of the stack itself, that would be really helpful. Thanks Edit: title should say "900ss ie" and not "900ss is". Bloody know it all predictive text hijack which I now can't change ....
Yeah them. The rubber thingamebobs which if I remember rightly have a bit of a flare on them and hence are like floppy velocity stacks
I have BDST 38 carbs....and a spare one so I can measure the diameter of the inlet tomorrow if it helps...
I think the mouth is flared. I want to make sure I get socks which are wide enough to clear the flare of the bell mouth but not so much wide as to have loads of spare foam to gather up when they are cable tied around the stem of the stack.
I think I'm at cross purposes with what you need to know.......... Velocity stacks vary considerably..........if you just need the outside diameter of the carb inlet stub I can oblige..............I would have thought a Malossi type would be as near as dammit the same.
Thanks. I want the measurement of the part above #28, which joins onto it and sticks through the airbox. Ironically, this seems to be the only part on that diagram which isn't numbered
all one part I believe rubber tube fits onto throttle body stick through air box locating in place with moulded ring half way up
Ok. Thanks. The measurements I wanted were of the diameter of the bell mouth and the diameter of the stem which it narrows down to.
Well, sorry Zhed, I was at cross purposes...........I was thinking you were playing around with velocity stacks on a carbed SS.....you know, the faster SSs.
