That was the stuff that petrol stations used to sell by the squirt from funny conical cans back in the 1960s?
Only because I've just found a fresh bottle of the stuff, I have put the odd dose in the tank now and again - tbh I don't know whether it actually does any good i.e. like keeping the carbs in good fettle internally.
have used redex in cars but found it sooted up the exhaust quite badly so not used for a few years believe millers additives are far better
I don't think there is much use for it these days...... ...It might have been useful in the past when there was much more crap in petrol than there is now...... .....and even then, if it actually worked, the chances are that if it did loosen deposits on the pistons and the valves etc, the deposits would have been helping (a bit) with sealing worn parts like rings and valve guides.
Couple of shots straight in the carbs of me Arrow was good for laying a smokescreen down the local high street.......
