...than the 848 Evo or regular Corse?

I don't recall the ride height being one of the changes in the SE. Is it?

Same, the shock is just the difference. I was advised to get an adjustable one off of a 1098 for my 848 so I could sort the ride height but never got around to it.

OK, that's good because I've got the ride height adjuster fitted and increased the height a bit today. Seemed to improve a lot of things.
