1260 Does The Dp Rear Rack From The 1200 Dvt Fit The 1260?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by firecat0_0, Mar 19, 2019.

  1. I am contemplating changing my 2017 1200S DVT to a 1260S and would like to know if the DP rear rack, engine guards and evo tech rad guards on the 1200 will fit the 1260? The termi would but as I cannot buy an upmap for the 1260 I cannot transfer that as well - unless anyone knows differently?
Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers

  2. Wow, so soon especially after spending a huge amount on that Temi exhaust in addition to the massive depreciation hit you are going to face ? If I may ask, what are you looking for in the 1260 that your 1200 does not provide and cannot be added ?

  3. If by DP Rear Rack you mean the top box mounting arms / kit then the answer is yes.
I bought new Rad and Oil guards for my 1260 so not sure about those.
The DVT DP / Touratec Engine Guard does also fit the new 1260.

  4. I had a quick look around OYB toward at the new enduro1260. If my mullah could stretch I'd grab one!

  6. I had the 2017 DVT and swapped for the 1260s & the quick shift is ace :)

The 2017 top box rack fits the 1260

  7. Hi,

My reasons for considering the 1260S are
    Power/torque flexibility.
Suspension, high speed stability is improved, much less weaving and planted. Both combine to make it more refined, faster and more fun. Is it night and day ahead of the 1200? no but it is enhanced significantly and has other bits and bobs which add to the appeal.

I don’t want to buy another termi as it is the same pipe as on the 1200 but the 1260 upmap is not available on its own. Not sure I want a bike without a termi, I am addicted to the sound. I picked the current one up on a cracking deal for 25% less than list so significantly cheaper but it still made me cry until I fitted it and went for a side!

Bikes are for fun and life has taught me to enjoy the day you are in and not wait for tomorrow it might not come or you might not be able to do what you want to do if it does. Let’s face it buying new you always get hit with depreciation if that were the major concern I would not buy a new bike and would probably look at alternatives marques and models to minimise it.

  8. The evotech oil and rad guards are a straight swap, the evotech engine guard will fit with a bit of persuasion but using it for a year it was rubbing slightly on the exhaust downpipe so decided to get the correct one for the 1260, it's better built than the one for the 1200DVT.
