Family want to spunk my ‘blade revenue on a dog o_O

    ideas appreciated.
About 5km a few times a week max exercise + the normal twice daily.
Son is 11 so needs to be ok with kids but not small children.
No drooling and not to much hair.
It will have company most of the time
    Nothing big

    TIA

  3. Spaniel. Cocker us right size probably. Ask @Zhed46 how his puppy has been.
If allergies are an issue, cockerpoo. Don’t shed hair as much.
    You will love it, promise.

  6. I know mate, only pulling your chain.
My mate has a pointer. Needs more Exercise than my springers. Ours get about 5k a day, more when off the lead. It’s A bloody great Excuse to get some me time. Bit like on the bike.
I would avoid Beagles. Hard to train. Also avoid trendy dogs - pugs, frenchies etc.
TBH a cross us always a good choice. Less inbreeding issues. But a cockerpoo would be worth a look (as would a cocker but NOT a working strain).

  7. Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Fantastic family dogs. Great all rounder :):upyeah:

  13. I think they are ace dogs. Very misunderstood by many. Every one I have met have been superb. Just not sure I would have one.

  14. Got it.

Bags of fun. Not big. Great attitude. Not too much exercise.

  20. Not from a breed perspective but more from getting one.

I found from the rescue dog point of view, many of the organisations now are putting so many limitations on who can have thier dogs, that it is really difficult to get one from them.

If you are after a particular breed then I found there are many rescue organisations that exist so simply type your wanted breed then add rescue and it gives you another option. On both rescue options, you will be surprised to see many still want money and not the old days of a £50 donation so check that as well

Lastly, puppies. The prices have gone through the roof, a decent dog from a decent breeder can start at around £1,100 upto £8,000 and are selling as soon as the bitches ovaries are warm let alone when the pups are ready to go.

One thing I have seen. Covid has meant you can't see many breeders puppies so beware if a seller wants a huge deposit, there are some scams going around.
