I have just read the paperwork for this one and notice its a 98db drive by. I'm assuming the pani has no chance of passing so luckily I have an RSV4 that I can take. Its fitted with a full system (only 1db louder than standard) and I have two baffles that I can fit. Am I on a hiding to nothing or should I be ok? Does anyone know where the sound meters are located? cheers
Hi Mate I think you've got little or no chance of passing. The 98db days are largely made up of small capacity race bikes with bean can exhausts to make them quiet and low power road bikes on standard cans
I've done a 98db drive by day at Donnington on the 1199s with Termis and been fine. Dave Mackay was there with his 899 bsb bike with Austin cans and got black flagged but just had to short shift past the noise meters. Donnington are much more switched on with the noise testing than other tracks, they realise the Pani is bad with static tests and ok with the drive bys.
Passed no problems RSV4 with full akro system and baffle full throttle under the noise meter on the start finish straight.......
Sorry I don't as it was a drive by only. Though they did say if it passed at Doni on a quiet day it should be ok for a 101 static.
There was also an 899 whizzing round... I enjoyed it and considering I crashed there the week before and confidence was dented a bit I managed to get my time down to 1'46"
Still not 100% sure. It was definitely a front end and I was going a lot slower but wider than normal. Maybe a dusty bit of the track?
