Well I received my 1200s today and installed the tank lock ring. I had a similar bag on my '13 GT which I loved, but either this bag is way taller, or the tank is. As you'll see in the picture it almost completely obscures the display. I'm 6'-1" and long in the body, so a lot of people would have an even worse view. I'm going to have to exchange it for something smaller.
Where's it moved to???? Did you look at the Ducats one? Know it's more expensive but maybe the 15 Ltr size I'd designed for that specific reason.....
I'm returning this one and I ordered the 308 which I had on my GT. It's 20L so might be better. The steering lock is going to be an issue though. I have the the baby one as well and the bars actually go under it slightly! Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
The 308 is ok, no view- or steeringproblems. Fits perfect, but I would recommend adding the Ducati fueltank protection.
Thanks. I just wish the pockets were fixed. Do you use the pockets off the bag? It's also time they got rid of the headstock strap or made a place to stow it! Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
I don't think anyone does. Who wants to look like an American tourist or a cut-price Batman? :-D Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
Does anyone have a picture with the larger DucatI one on? I have the small tank bag that comes with the urban kit which is handy for daily use but we're going to Corsica in summer and I'll get the square route of bugger all in it! Would be nice to know someone's experience of the larger one.
I've got the larger "touring" tank bag from Ducati which I use for touring. I've also got the smaller "pocket" tank which came as part of the Urban accessory pack. I brought it for use on a 2015 Multistrada but took early delivery and used it on my 2013 bike. It's a good size and doesn't foul the bars on full lock. I don't use the map/tablet pouch as it has a map pocket on the main bag. Generally I don't use unzip the extended section but it's useful to carry a drink and snacks a short distance for a roadside picnic. The pockets on the sides are handy for spare glasses, side stand puck, ear plugs etc. I use the pocket at the back for a small wallet. It's a bit expensive compared to the Givi tank bags but I preferred the design to the larger Givi bags. The links below are to a couple of my photo albums which include pictures of the Ducati touring tank bag on my bikes: Photos on 2015 Multistrada Photos on 2013 Multistrada If you want some photos of the inside let me know.
Thanks Steveb123 the info is handy! I'm looking at a larger tank bag than the one that comes with the urban pack (got that one) but didn't want anything that would obscure the clocks. I know the Ducati one is a fair bit more than the Givi ones but if it's a better fit/look the extra £80 odd quid I can live with. Does it come with the front cut out for the power lead and fitting the USB hub? I'm wanting to use it as an overnight bag for the ferry would you get a pair of shoes, top and jeans in it? Much else rob over and above that? Any close up pics or inside it would be appreciated, many thanks in advance.
Hi @Brakes508 I've created a photo album showing the internal dimensions, together a picture showing the amount of expansion available, plus pictures of the map/tablet carrier. You'll notice there is an internal bag with a draw string which I assume is to provide a degree of rain protection. The tank bag does come with a rain cover but I never use covers on tank bags. I use a number of dry bags/sacks for spare gloves, visor cleaning kit etc. and don't use the internal bag. The bag will obscure a sat nav mounted on the handle bar clamp. No a problem for me as I use a Navihalter which mounts the sat nav above the display. Opening up the expansion zip gives another inch or so of internal height however it starts then starts to obscure the display. Yes there is cutout to accept the power lead. I purchased a Givi S111 USB Power Hub and changed the connector. That way I could leave both tank bags ready to go without swapping components between them. I've use the tank bag to carry trainers and a pair a jeans. I've got size 10 feet and use "approach" type trainers which pack better than more rigid trainers. I also use walking trousers rather than jeans as they fold up smaller, are lighter and dry quicker if you get them wet. You should be able to squeeze in trainers, jeans and a top however you might need to use the expansion zip. All bets would be off if your'e 6'6" with size 15 boots
Thanks Steveb123, that's exactly the info I needed! I've got the Navihaulter as well so nice to see how it sit's many thanks for that. Next call try and beat my dealer down on a Scottish price!!
