I know what you mean, but don't you find it incredible that his "friends" are more shocked at the fact his shoes came off?
How did America manage to become the most powerful country in the world with a gene pool like that? Surely its a set-up? If not who'd want friends like those? More concerned about the bike and whooping and laughing than tending a man who may well have a broken back. I can't see that its genuine. If he'd fallen on his back onto solid ground from that height he'd be smashed.
It's genuine alright, and under normal circumstances it should have been reasonably safe as the jump was from ramp to foam pit (very common in practicing freestyle MX) Tommy's lack of experience and throttle happy right hand got him into trouble. They do the stunts and take the pain. Look up Travis Pastrana and the no parachute freefall skydive, or his old man doing a baywatch style dive from a speed boat etc. Great TV.
Yes he was surprisingly OK, then goes on to even more stupid and painful stunts. You can see some of their antics on Saturday Nitro Circus @ 11 PM or 23.00 hrs if you prefer, on Sky Extreme 419.
