Doping In Sport

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by johnv, Jan 14, 2016.

  1. A WADA report suggests that those on the IAAF Council "must have known" the extent of doping.

The IAAF did not pursue Russia with the full facts of what it knew and the Russian payment for television rights prior to the 2013 World Championships was increased from $6million to $25million.

    Rotten to the core.

  2. The worlds of cycling, of football, and of athletics have all been exposed in recent years as comprehensively corrupt. Does anyone want to bet against the worlds of swimming, rugby, skiing, etc being exposed in their turn?

  3. Challenge-name an industry/sport/group conglomerate that has NOT had (allegations/evidential) corruption in its history.

I bet even Richard the Lionheart( see, even he is claiming a false body organ, or was it steroids) knights from the crusades were bringing back undeclared duty free....

  4. Coe reckons he knew nothing about this, what a joke! He was high on juice when he competed. Unfortunately there has always been doping in sport. I love watching sport but watch it with an open mind that most if not all the top athletes are doping.

  5. People say where there's muck there's money, I like to think the opposite, where there's money, there's muck.

  10. Just like my place. Well, similar, just a bit smaller, and a smaller garden. Less flowers etc.

  11. I have no proof and will be more careful with when posting my opinions in future. No offence intended.

  12. Dick Pound of WADA suggests that the IAAF Council must have known yet also suggests that the then Deputy President, the person who is now President, is the best placed person to clean up the sport.

    Sounds odd to me.

  13. I think you can add tennis to that list.

Operation Puerto by the Spanish police into blood doping of athletes under Dr Fuentes has been dragging on for years and the court recently ordered the destruction of blood samples which could point the finger at many people from the world of sport, fortunately the order was appealed and hopefully more information will emerge as a result.
