Or amalgamate MotoGP with WSB and be done with it. Todays GP had 19 bikes on the start line, including CRTs, and just three works manufacturers. Not a big enough field, not enough makes. Not enough money or sponsors in the world to support properly two similar, overlapping chamionships at the same time. Time to bite the bullet, I think.
inthink 2 races would be good, but the grid needs to be bigger , with a couple of exceptions this season (including todays thriller) I think generally Moto 2/3 is a better watch
I don't. Not even a bit. Love WSBK. Love the whole MotoGP thing too, although it is true that the current Moto3 and Moto2 are better races than MotoGP. But rules are rules. Dorna and Co can make up any rules they damned well want to make it work. I think though the mono-tyre and mooted mono-ECU are rubbish rules. They should be promoting diversity not conformity - that's what's partly responsible for killing it. It worked in the past, it can work in the future. The events are well attended (well, maybe not in Qatar) so why try and shoe horn all the MotoGP and WSBK fans into one single event? More events, more reasons for a long bike ride and a trip away. More things to look at on the TV. The CRT thing is a waste of time - a red herring to fill grids. Work out what the manufacturers really want from the MotoGP series to get involved and give it to them. What would it take for Aprilia, Kwacker, Suzuki and BMW to get involved? They were happy once, why not now? Maybe Dorna need to be better at marketing their series to more potential sponsors. You're not telling me that there is no one around who couldn't be convinced.
Maybe 2x20 lap races but not 11 laps . Take away all the electronic wizardry and allow any number of cylinders any configuration and even engine size should be a choice and not a rule . We could see wankel engines making a come back who knows. Allow the genius to do his thing and stop dorna from making the rules and maybe we will see what PROTOTYPE racing should be. This type of racing should have some scope for the inventor to come up with something new. Thats what prototype is supposed to be. Not some old fools laying the law down about what can be done.
