...on Saturday morning was chaos. Big queue to passport control, then another big queue to the ferry check-in. I lost count of the number of times I stopped and restarted the engine, but by the time I got to the check-in the battery had hoisted up the white flag. It was a long push along to the relevant lane, then another hard push onto the ferry, and a final hard push to get the bike off again in Calais. There I spoke with an nice lady who was loading vehicles, and she asked 'Vous desirez le jump-start?' So about 2h & 45 minutes than planned I finally escaped into Europe. The battery on the 1299 is tiny! I remember the battery on my 748R was about half the size of a small car's battery, this bike's battery is like a pack of cards in comparison. Starting has been without issue since then, so I think the battery is ok. Three days in the Ardenne has been fun, off to the Ring tomorrow. M7RRs are holding up well...
