At the WDW 2014 event being held at Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” this weekend, Andrea Dovizioso and Ducati announced on Saturday that they will continue together for 2015 and 2016.
During a press conference at the Italian circuit Dovizioso and Ducati Motor Holding Director Claudio Domenicali gave the details of the rider’s new two-year agreement with the Borgo Panigale factory.
Domenicali commented, “Andrea has been with us for two years now and has shown his belief in this project. After a difficult 2013 he has given us two podiums this year. He is our best rider. It’s a great honour for me to announce that he has decided to continue with us for two more years.”
Dovizioso added, “We’ve reached an agreement and this is because it’s an interesting project which is beginning to bear fruit with the arrival of (Luigi) Dall’Igna. We’ve had two podiums already this season and we are fourth in the World Championship. The current situation is really exciting, especially with the plans for 2015 in mind.”

  2. So what will Cal do now - Stay or Go, Lets face it what better way to show your commitent than to sign at WDW 2014

  3. Resigns or remains?!

  4. Exactly what I thought, kin ell has he gone to suzuki.
Re-signs not resigns, however it would have then been 'from' not 'with'. ;).

  5. Yes RE-SIGN My mistake

    Text says it all

If any mods view this please ammend the thread title
    Thanks

  6. Can see cal jumping, as short of winning the world title next year they won't keep him past end 2015

  7. i also think that, but it all depends on the Pay check, will Cal take a pay cut to go to a non factory team - cannot see it

also what will Suzuki's budget be for a rider

  8. Cal needs to stay, you never know, if he shows a little loyalty and some good performances next year maybe he'll get some loyalty in return

  9. Sorry but don't believe that for one moment. They want dovi and crazy joe. And why wouldn't they? Both are out performing cal and they ain't moaning constantly

And there you have it, good lad

Cal Crutchlow has taken up his 2015 option and will remain with the factory Ducati MotoGP team next season.

The announcement was made on Saturday during World Ducati Week at Misano - just hours after confirmation that team-mate Andrea Dovizioso had been re-signed for the next two seasons.

Crutchlow has endured a nightmare start to his Desmosedici career, with a series of technical problems, accidents and a hand injury meaning he has finished just four of a possible nine races.

When the machine has been running correctly, its handling limitations have left Crutchlow unable to get near his Tech 3 Yamaha form, which took him to four podiums and fifth in last year's world championship. The Englishman is currently 14th in the standings with a best result of sixth.

However Gigi Dall'Igna's full design influence will not be felt until next year's Desmosedici, due to debut at the Valencia post season test.

The news of an unchanged factory Ducati line-up quashes Andrea Iannone's hopes of graduating from Pramac to the official team. It also increases speculation over the 2015 Suzuki line-up, with Dovizioso and Crutchlow both high on the Japanese factory's list of targets.

Ducati joins Repsol Honda (Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa) in completing its 2015 Factory team line-up. Valentino Rossi has also re-signed for Yamaha, but team-mate Jorge Lorenzo is yet to complete his contract extension.

Suzuki, returning to MotoGP next season, is yet to announce any riders but is now being linked with rookie Moto2 race winner Maverick Vinales. Two further Factory rides may appear at Aprilia, which is contemplating bringing its official return forward by one year to 2015.
