Ducati Multistrada 1200 Carbon Rear Splashguard, 969A01410B A quick question for anyone that's fitted one, was it supplied by Ducati with a set of replacement fixings/bolts?......(as the bolts for the OE plastic guard do not fit) Thnx
I took one of these off a friends Multi who had had it fitted by a Ducati dealer (No names) from new, and they had used some different cheap nasty bolts. Nothing special, looks like what they had laying around... I fitted it to my Multi using the correct bolts after very carefully drilling out the mounting holes on my pillar drill ! Sounds like yours is very similar..?
My mates one from his multi fell off. Removing the old one also exposed a weakness in the threads of the holes. They are prone to getting tight and threading so be careful. Lol his one, expensive DP, fell off on M3 and was promptly run over and smashed to smithereens. I only guffawed mildly...teehee
Yep i fitted one a few weeks ago,no fitting kit, phoned dealer to see if maybe a bag of bits may have fallen out, they phoned me back to say nothing lying around but sorted me out some oe bolts and posted them out foc,but i had to double nylon washer a couple of them,i was advised to check the bolts regulary as they are prone to come undone.
Thanks for the comments guys......so looks like Ducati supply a replacement part that cannot be fitted using the OE bolts without drilling the bolt holes in the brand spanking new EXPENSIVE carbon piece......nice one Ducati!!
Have another one on order since yesterday, will check once the carbon rear splash guard arrived in China from the USA and feedback. Fitted one to my MTS-P0 2012 a long time ago but can't remember what bolts I used or a special new set of bolts was supplied.
today, got a large parcel with goodies from my favourite shop PI in Glendale, see pics ~ hope this helps....
