Dp Ecu...

  1. My S2r 800 currently runs a full Termi system, K&N and a power commander and is plenty quick enough for me, but then I enjoy ragging smaller bikes, pestering bigger stuff and it gets to licence losing speeds without too much trouble.

Anyway, while looking through the boxes of standard bits for something else, I got distracted by a DP ECU and the power commander cables and CD that came with the bike when I bought it.

I know the answer will be "get it set up on a dyno" but I was wondering what difference the DP ECU would make in the real world. I'd be interested to hear what the DP one has over the stock and if it's worth swapping the ECU and getting the power commander set up for it. I'm not looking for headline HP figures but more torque in the middle wouldn't go amiss.

Having the bits to play with and being able to down load some more maps does make it quite tempting to have a look to see what I change and what difference it would make (having a 'spare' ECU would enable me to take it somewhere to get it fixed as well!)

  2. You say DP ECU. Does the ECU have the DP labels on it or was it in a DP ECU box.

  3. it has the DP labels on the one in the box.

Edit - having found it out of the shed, the reference is 96518107B and I also found a dyno run from 2010 with a slightly depressing 71.6 wheel hp...
