Dp Steering Damper By Gubellini

Discussion in 'Monster' started by Putney, Jan 1, 2016.

  1. I took the plunge on the DP steering[IMG] damper for the Monster 1100 S... My other Bikes have all had Ohlins but this is by a company called Gubellini.

Anyone got any advice on the Install? Any user reviews? There doesn't appear to be much on these.

  2. Properly setup the m1100s doesn't need a steering damper
Money Would have been better spent getting bike set up for you.

  3. I read that a while back. I had the suspension set up and the correct weight spring installed.

  4. My 1100s monster has never shook its head whatever I do with it. Probably the most forgiving bike I've ridden.

What made you buy a damper? Genuine question as I've never seen one fitted to a 1100.

  5. usually there is arm/bracket that attaches to the lock barrel screws and
another arm/ bracket that attaches the dampser body to the top clamp

    is yours like this?

  6. That is the one I ordered. It arrived today so will check the kit out this week and make sure it's all there.

To answer your question about what made me buy it. I like modding bikes, saw it on ebay for a great price so clicked the buy it now! That's pretty much how the story goes with all my purchases.

  7. Be interested to see what it looks like fitted.

I really liked my M1100, great road bike.

  8. ^ Good policy! :D

  9. Quick Update. I sent the damper off for new seals and a service. FG Gubellini offer a seal kit for 30 Euros or a service for 90 Euros. I'd imangine it's quite a messy job to do. It's back now and ready to fit. Will report back once installed.
