So, I've been wanting to get a good quality action cam for a while now, I've looked in to some much cheaper Chinese ones on eBay but they don't look quite as well made and the battery life can't be very good as they mostly use old Nokia battery's . Anyway ive found the drift ghost hd for about £220 brand new online which I think is pretty good? I just wondered what you get in the box as there's loads of accessories and I don't want to double up on stuff. Ideally I'd like to be able to clip in to my helmet and maybe clamp to my forks or handle bar (mtb or motorbike) What accessories are worth having? Also I presume the curved adhesive mount is what you use to attach to a helmet? When it's not fitted is the clip quite small and discreet as I don't want to ruin the look of my main helmet if I can help it Cheers
The drift is a better camera that the GoPro. Maybe not in terms of final video quality (but unless your Jim Cameron, it wont matter) but in terms of functionality, its superior. Its also British. You know, just saying
What's it look like with just the mount in place? I'm thinking more when I've not got the camera fitted, I presume when you stick the mount on that's it, it's there forever until you pull it off or the glues buggered. Maybe I should just get the roll bar / fork clamp thingy and handle bar one
Ive got the ghost s, its great camera and the quality is excellent. You get a curved and flat mount (in the box supplied) that are adhesive but im sure if you try hard enough or use a hairdrier it would come off eventually. I would recommend the external mic though if your going to use on bike as all you will hear on playback is wind noise. But be careful if you use it in the wet it, it stops the camera from being waterproof as I found my screen misted a little, although it did clear up quite quickly and camera still works perfectly. You can see me on my bike with camera on helmet on page 13 of 899/1199 gallery
So is it just the two adhesive mounts you get in the box, 1 flat and 1 curved? The extras I'm considering are therefore: Roll bar mount (presume big enough for fork legs) Handle bar mount Cradle / wall charger Spare battery Can't think what else you'd need?
Yeah that's pretty much all you get...... oh and you get a clip for a headband for say goggles that you use for skiing or motox. I got a wall charger and two spare batteries on amazon for the same price as the manufacturers wall charger. Oh you will need a memory card too but im sure you can get one in a deal somewhere plus they aren't that expensive anymore.
