Has anyone experienced excessive backlash in the drive train. Chain tension is correct, checked several times at multiple points. 4.5k ml’s use When rolling of the throttle there is always a slack spot which is a bit clunky as the backlash is taken up. Also happens on very light throttle on uneven surfaces. I never noticed it on my 1200
I reckon you might need to take a look at the throttle spacer, which will 'mostly' deal this issue. I say 'mostly' as it won't totally cure it, however, it will soften out the problem. IMO, a rather common occurrence with the 1260, not from everyone's perspective I am aware, that said, for me it helped. Check it out and although rather costly for a simple piece of plastic, if it helps, then definitely a worthwhile spend.
Ensure that you're tensioning the chain 'by the book'. Makes a big difference. Use the special gauge in the tool kit, suspension set to urban, solo rider. Check tension with bike on the side stand. Also check at several places along run of the chain by wheeling bike forwards. If you still have lash then check the cush drive inserts on the rear sprocket. As above the throttle spacer will make the closed to minimal throttle transition smoother. I found this a significant improvement and worth what seemed like a ridiculous price for a small plastic part. @nelly of this parish should be able to supply one.
