Ducat V4r

  1. Hi I've just bought a ducati v4R 16/8/19 and all good when riding but the clutch feels a little strange.
When changing gear with the clutch leaver I have a judder on the leaver when pulling in and releasing. Also when I take up the very small amounts of slack on the leaver with my finger while I throttle on and off the clutch leaver pulsates in and out in time with the throttle.
Can anyone advise if this is how it's supposed to be with the slipper setup.
    Regards
    Andy

  2. Thanks for the advice cheers

  3. i cant really speak for a v4r but all the ducatis i have had over the years all have had slipper clutches, from the cheapest basic std item to a singing and dancing stm one, and they all have given that feedback through the lever. i look at it as a feeling that is telling me its working balancing the speed of the rear wheel with the speed of the engine to eliminate the back torque and hence not lock the back wheel on downshift..

  4. Welcome aboard Andy:upyeah:a great looking bike you've there sir,as for the slipper clutch the juddering is normal on my 916.:upyeah:

  5. If your bike uses the same slave as the earlier panigales then it's also prone to getting air in and requires a bleed (often) from the m/c.

  6. Thank you for the replies . No air but the vibration I didn't notice on the v4s I took out for test. I've called to dealer for confirmation and awaiting a call back tomorrow.
I can only describe it as like I experienced on a car with crank endfloat but obviously this is new kit and not on the same planet as my old Austin 2200. Lol.
My 916 in the past didn't have this movement or my 1098. Or 1199r so Henderson the question.
The dealer was only 700yrds from the motorway so I didn't really notice until I got off the motorway 40miles further on.

  7. It is the slipper clutch and nothing to worry about.

  10. Probably the slipper clutch

Most bikes (all brands) with slippers do it

  11. Can’t say I noticed anything at Silverstone but I only used the clutch to leave the pit lane at the start of the session and again when I entered the garage at the end of the session. Andy
