Ducati 1098 Mugello Noise Test?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Scott21, Jul 26, 2017.

  1. not long till mugello track day just wondering if any one has had any issues with the noise tests there with the termis?

  2. What we talking, 70mm not for road use system ? Mugello appears to have a 105db limit, if it's measured. I ran my 1098R with a full 70mm system without baffles at Silverstone and didn't fail the 102db drive-by limit but knowing where the mics were, I held off full throttle. Static was a little more precarious at 105.5db which was measured in an enclosed area. If you have baffles, I'd take them as a precaution. Andy

  3. I'd be very surprised if they even have noise testing at Mugello; has anyone ever heard this is the case?? Middle age housewives get wet over the sound of Ducati engines in Italy. I'm on the 1199R and if I can't use that in Mugello then I'm going to drop it off at Bologna on the way home!

  4. I didn't see anyone getting noise tested last year, there was numerous 1199/1299/RSV4's mostly running full systems. A chap in our garage was on a 1098S full 70mm system, no problems, so I wouldn't worry if I was you. I would worry more about taking plenty of Mozzie spray, a nightmare around the pool at the hotel, see you there if I get a bike sorted. :motorcycleduc:

  5. Anyone upgrading to the Spa golf resort hotel for the Mugello weekend?

  6. There's a space come available for Mugello on one of the facebook groups if anyone fancies living the dream? I've asked for first refusal for a mate but looks like he cannot go so if anyone is interested give me a pm.

  7. I won't be, it looks too far away from the any life/towns/restaurants, nice looking hotel but to secluded for me and the good lady.

  8. Thats what I was concerned about but it looks a lot nicer than the other one and we wanted a bit of luxury for this trip. There seems to be more restaurants in the town in between this hotel and the track than in the normal hotel? There's three of us planning to be in there at the moment and hopefully a few others. Not been there so not sure of the area, I'm guessing some of the outlying restaurants are probably worth the couple min drive??

  9. We're not upgrading costing to much all ready just over £4K for the weekend without even being there yet.

    That's flights + event + 2 riders + the 2 wives + extra night + tyres + Bike parts!!!

I'll stick to almeria next time.

  10. Blimey, myself and the wife are going for 16 days and it's not costing us anywhere near that figure. Almeria is a good event though, probably going in October four days, £389, can't knock that

  11. This is a one off to say the least doesn't help the wives want to sit around a pool all day in the sun!

Look on the bright side we won't be getting mithered at the track

Going to stick to Spain next year far easier.

  13. Tell them to take plenty of mozzie spray if they are going to be sitting around the pool all day, where are you in the UK ?

  14. Noted, were in the Cheshire area

  15. Saw the word Mithered and thought you wouldn't be too far away from good old Shropshire, see you out in Mugello, well that's as long as I come away from Imola in one piece.

  16. Yeah we are doing Imola the weekend before as well plus need a hotel for the four days inbetween so the costs are going a bit crazy for us as well. I'm seriously thinking about doing a day or two work whilst out there to help with the costs now.

  17. We have got one night in France on the way down, then three nights on Lake Garda, then Imola, then four nights on the Adriatic. Hopefully we get the same hotel as last year in Mugello, easier for the memsaib to walk in to Borgo. Itinerary seems busy just writing it never mind chucking five days on track in between, hopefully everyone has a safe event and comes home in one piece, see you all there

  18. The hotel is Hotel Ripaverde in the picture I posted above. Is that the same one and if so how was it?

  19. Yes that's the one, no complaints from me really, we only ate there once as we arrived late after unloading the trucks at the circuit, average fare, beer was cold. Nice pool area but mozzies a bit of a problem, best to stay in the water. 15 mins walk into Borgo, quite small, but enough restaurants to get a decent meal/beer/wine. I have requested to stay at this hotel again, but with FE you never can tell, they do have other options available to them. All in all it was a great event last year, and I shall keep going to Mugello as long as they keep doing them, and when they stop, I shall just go with Promo Racing who actually run the event once you are at the track. Take a container for fuel if you can, the only fuel available is from a pump on the other side of the paddock, either ride the bike over and fill up, or take a jerrycan, FE only had about 10 jerrycans last year. Its getting close now, just need a bike and I am sorted. :motorcycleduc:

  20. They specifically say you cannot take Jerry cans and there's not enough space to hide one in our gear. Could buy one over there I guess?
