The OEM Ducati traction control unit fits on the subframe and apart from the 1198S subframe having provision for pillion footrests, the 1098R subframe looks identical. The 1098R traction control pick up is on the front fork and takes its reference from the disc bobbin. You might be better off looking at an after market solution like the Nemesis. Andy
I converted a base 1198 to run TC, no problem. You just need a disc with bobbins, the wheel sensor, the tc unit and an ECU flash to activate it. The loom is the same. @chrisw is your man for the ecu flash.
Oh I can see how the question confused you guys a bit. So just to correct my self.. I Have a 1198s with the TC already on the bike, and I am wondering if it will be possible to mount the rear carbon fairing from a 1098R, as the computer for the TC is mounted under the tail fairing.
Don’t see why it should be a problem as all the 1098R/1198 bodywork is interchangeable as far as I know. Andy
The 1098r subframe is different to the 1198 as it wasn't made to carry passengers, and is aluminium i don't think it will be a direct fit on an 1198 subframe. But not 100% sure
The 1098R seat unit has the provision underneath for the standard Ducati TCS ECU. The seat unit should be a direct swap.
Yes it will fit. The mounting points on the standard subframe and on the mono subframe are in the same place. I think maybe you can't use a couple of the fixings on the R tail on a standard subframe but it doesn't effect anything and the tail still fits securely.
