  2. Worth noting that you'd have to pay VAT on this when registering in the UK.

  3. @Robarano
There is no VAT due on this when registering in the Uk.

  4. VAT has already been paid in a EU country.

That's a cheap bike right there

  5. yes VAT is paid already, you only pay vat on a new bike or under 6 months old if selling for profit..

  6. If it has done less than 6000km, VAT will have to be paid in the UK.

It is classed as a 'New Means Of Transport' Here

  7. Even with £4k in VAT?

Fill in the NOVA form for the 'cheap' bike and wait for HMRC to come knocking.

  8. Blood hell the robbing barstewards

  9. there Is no VAT, HMRC state that if the car/motorcycle is under 6 months old, being sold to profit in which case the car/bike must be kept in the new owners name for a minimum of 6 months or sales tax is applied or is less than 6 months old and less than 6000 klm's. Its all on the HMRC WEBSITE.
We have also sold and imported various bikes over the years with no complications.
The Panigale is a 2013 model.
Rather than hi-jack my thread, please find something better to do.

  10. Exactly. I nearlt got burnt. Plenty of info on the net of people falling foul of this.

  11. We import various high end Ducati's to independent Ducati dealers in the Uk regularly over the years, Some people I agree do not look at the process properly, but once done is very straight forward.
Usually it is the NOVA notification that people get hit with.

  12. Rather than feel I'm jacking your thread. I would have thought you would feel it was important for people to know their VAT liability if they bought this bike. Obviously not. I'm sure a quick call to HMRC would confirm this, but it's all on my previous link.

    OK then.....
    They say no such thing.

Both these criteria have to apply. The bike has done less than 6,000km so is calssed as a 'New Means Of Transport' in the eyes of HMRC, regardless of age. I almost got caught on an 8 year old bike because of the milage.

  13. Exactly. This is what HMRC use to calculate VAT owing.
