Ducati 748 Carl Foggy Race Rep

Discussion in 'Ducati Bikes For Sale' started by nathan moly, Jan 5, 2016.

  1. Looking for some help, i'm new to this forum using it to see if I can value a bike. My dad recently passed away suddenly and he had a number of bikes we are looking at selling as we can't maintain them.

He has a what I believes a Ducati 748 which he has made into a Carl Foggy Race rep, he resprayed the whole bike and did a lot of work to it.

can anyone help to value it I would be very grateful.

    Thanks

  2. Sorry to hear of your loss. GLWS.

  3. I'm no expert on 748 values. However I would add mileage , service history and a few pics and then the people who know can hopefully help you in terms of value.

Alternatively try eBay with a 99p start and let it find a value. Personally this wouldn't be my first choice but it does reach a large market compared to forums.

    Good luck

  4. You need to provide a bit more info if you expect a sensible valuation

    Mileage
    Service History
    Number of previous owners
    Condition (photos would help)
Is it on the "register" ?
    MOT
    Non standard parts
    Any marks/dents etc
How long your Dad owned it/why it was repainted etc

  5. Sorry for your loss...
Try better high res pictures for people to get a better look and as suggest, more info.
The race rep paint won't necessarily add to the value when compared to a standard one of similar spec / mileage - but it might get you a quicker sale if someone likes it being a little different.

  6. okay no problem, I anticipated you'd say about more information i'll look into it and get some better photos of the bike and then repost them in here, theres no dents or marks on it, the pain is brand new so is immaculate the reason he resprayed was to get a good replica he restores old motorcycles also so I think this was just a pass time for him really, the non standard parts I know off are the termignoni exhausts, carbon fibre clock surround/binacle (not sure what its called) carbon fibre, rear end, open dry clutch basket i'll get some photos up soon, I don't really know much about it if I'm honest

    thanks for your help all

  7. The Infostrada stickers suggest it may be a Carl Fogarty replica from 1999/2000. I think a bit of research might be well founded as to me it looks like it has just been fitted with some sort of race replica kit which may or may not be accurate.

This company specialise in race replica graphics and research to a very high level. Study their photos to decide which kit it might be meant to resemble. You will note the kits for Carl Fogarty replicas that they sell are accurate with the stickers in the correct position on the bike as per the original.
