1998 Ducati 748sps - SOLD https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354979063464 Sorn since 2014 (stored in climate controlled summer house) just had £1400 recommissioning service with lots of new oe parts and new mot - the bike runs perfectly. I’ve owned this bike since 2000, but sold it in 2006 regretted it then rebought it in 2009 and have owned it since then. I bought it with 2300 miles in 2000 now showing 24267 The mods: The bike is pretty standard except: JHP fitted Ohlins fork springs and slightly softer shock spring (std is too hard - I’m 6’2” and 90kg btw) Ohlins steering damper Carbon rear hugger Renthal rear carrier (went 3 up on the rear sprocket for better pick up and drive as it has a long first gear) OE stuff included in sale: Standard exhausts 2 x Ducati EPROMs Paddock stand Two keys, all handbooks, stamped service book and loads of service receipts dating back to 1998 I wasn’t planning on ever selling this bike but unfortunately I was paralysed in a mountain bike accident in 2019 and I have to face facts that I’ll never ride it again. The bike is priced to sell so no low ball offers or dealers please After I rebought the bike in 2009 I took it to MD racing and spent £1700 getting the bike totally sorted mechanically. I still wasn’t 100% happy with the fuelling so in 2010 I sent it to Biggelaar Special Performance in Holland (the Dutch JHP) for their big service and custom ecu map - I have all the dyno charts etc (£1250) - the bike was absolutely perfect after this service but has done very few miles since 2010 - maybe around 500 as I bought a 749r with a corsa engine in 2010 and got distracted!! This is a riders bike - it’s not mint, it has a few scratches etc but is in good condition for a 25 year old bike. It's mechanically spot on so I’m happy for any inspection - the bike is currently located in Sittingbourne, Kent
Well I thought this was a great deal - zero interest so far! - any constructive suggestions on what I need to do to sell it on here before I head to ebay? (FYI I'm a Ducati enthusiast and this was my first Ducati - its genuinely a really nice, well maintained bike)
Used market of relatively special bikes, currently seems to be depressed. Another post laments the lack of dealer interest in a Mk2 Panigale R, even trading against another bike. My 748R has had no response from the Autotrader advert and my V4 Speciale has had 1 enquiry that has not gone farther than first contact. Andy
Thanks for the feedback I’m guessing increases in interest rates, energy and food could be beginning to really bite….. I read it normally takes 4-6 quarters to kick in
@Chef, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12602013...XWWCcOmvmD/rmVnl96VFGANw==|tkp:Bk9SR8KC8-atYg. I know which one I’d buy. Andy
I’m not sure what is going on with selling R versions of Ducati’s. I had to trade my 9r in as I had zero interest on here, eBay or MCN. I’m pleased with the bike I’m getting though so not all bad.
The bike is now back to standard and just listed on ebay - DUCATI 748 SPS | eBay I'll be listing the stuff I took off shortly DucRider - sorry included the stand in the sale as its OE
