Hi, Does anyone know off cheap, word is cheap 749 for sale? Can be none running but needs to be complete. For project I will need basically entire bike minus engine. Do not need forks as well and calipers but if calipers are there great as can use on Monster. Will need radiator and oil cooler plus all brackets. If anyone is interested in buying with me a cheap 999 cause you want engine I am more then happy to talk. On that note will also need a 1198 or 1198sp engine. Do not want street fighter or multi engine. Might take 1098 if price is good and engine low mileage. Anyone seen a good one for sale?
You'll be very luck to find a 1198 engine. Why not an SF? I've completed projects with both the 1098 and the 1098SF, the SF engine is way better IMO. Buy @chizel the one for sale on here...
To be honest reason I do not want 1098sf engine is because it is only 20bhp more on good day over late 999 models. With 999 loom, custom airbox and 999 exhaust I bet it will do less then 15bhp more, probably 10bhp over. In which case I save me self a hassle and get a 999 Nero. While 1198 engine is closer to 170 stock. Loosing 10bhp to above means I am still 20bhp over.
believe the 1098 sfs was 155 bhp in standard trim? Would you lose that much in air box mod? @Nelson would know more than me! Will pm ya now luca
Like i said, good luck finding a 1198 engine, think I saw 2 for sale last year. Never had mine dynoed, certainly doesn't feel slow, or slower than my 1098 did, the engine is also bloody light compared to the SBK version and probably the 999.
There are 3 in us now. Option 2 get a multi/monster 1200 one and add high compression pistons and cams from 1098
