Having problems starting my 749 turns over but won't start. It's been well covered in this Forum I.e. possible relay problems. Located the fuel one , going to check it by swapping it with the lights relay ,which I was told was the same. Could someone advise me on the location of the relay , before i start moving wiring looms etc lol.
Good first effort, but thread moved to the correct section Ps Dont forget to introduce yourself properly as I mentioned in my PM (private message) to you
Jackdaw, the headlight relay is in the headlight assembly and is a bit of an effort to get to, easier to get a spare.
Thanks 900streetfighter for the info , ordered and another problem solved with the help of you guys. Thanks again.
How well does it turn over?? If your battery is knackered, it can turn the engine over but have too little voltage to run the ignition circuit as well as the starting circuit. The answer to that is a new AGM Yuasa for 53 quid or so from Halfords with your Forum discount card PLUS a cable kit from @Exige on here, also with your subscribers Forum discount. A new Yuasa and cable kit totally transformed the starting of my 999
Already fitted the exige kit transformed the bike new battery fitted. Tried to get a relay from my local Halfords , but they didn't have one. Just joined haven't got a Forum discount card , need to organise that . Thanks again have a good day .
If the relay you got looks exactly like the one in the picture above, you'll have the same problem, eventually. There's a newer version available which is sealed against water ingress.
