Hi all, I have a Ducati 749 (2004) and the lower bracket which should have a hole for a Dzus fastener on the front of the left side fairing have snapped off so the fairing now flaps around which is a bad thing. The right hand fairing still has the bracket with the holes that the Dzus fasteners pass through. I've looked at a few 749s and they have similar issues, but typically have one of the two brackets intact so get away with it. I spoke to a Ducati specialist who comes across this frequently, so anybody know if there is a simple repair "kit". If not I'll have to break out the rivet gun and fashion up some sort of bracket that the Dzus fastener can hook into, not ideal. Open to suggestions, but replacing the fairing isn't one. Please see attached pictures with the broken brackets, one is less missing than the other, one photo shows what it is meant to look like (but without the scratches). Thanks for reading. Nick
Hi nick, I had the same issue with mine a few years ago. I rode it un-knowingly and the wind ripped it off in an instant, scary when you're doing over 100mph on the a10! My advice is drill a small 5mm hole into each side and put a zip tye through it. You would have to replace the zip tye each time the fairings come off but it was the most secure fix I was happy using at silly speeds. Paul
