Thanks for taking the time reading this! My friend has a 848 (not evo, with leo vince slipon and removed exhaust valve) I have a 848 evo SE 2012, wich should have abit more horsepower and i have converted to 520 chain with 14t front and 40 rear, and i have termignoni slip on. Today we did a small drag race, and he pulled away from me, hard! We swapped bikes and its clear his bike has more power. Today i took of the tank and side fearings, i did compression test and i have 14 bar in both cylinders (thorttle wide open when testing on warm engine) i took some sandpapir and sanded the coil cround where it hits the cylinder, i checked the sparkplugs with multimeter, it should be 5k ohm, the plugs measured 4,2k (guess thats ok?) I hear the fuelpump when turn the key, it sounds ok but cant be to sure. Only thing i can think of now is that he mapped his bike with the leo vince, and my bike might have the stock map with the termignoni slipons Any ideas to help me out abit? Thanks
You can? i was thinking about this, but IF i have a terminogni map i figured it wasent much point doing it?
Subject to actually checking the ECU with diagnostics your dash message suggests you have the correct ECU fitted for your slip on exhausts.
Ok thanks! I just checked the two air nippels on the right side of the tank. From what i understand, one is for draining water from the cap when its raining and the other one is air breathing for the tank. The one in rear, the one that is suppose to remove water of fuel when its over fueld was clogged, i drilled all out and blew trough it. Its now open, but it shouldent have anything to do with my problem of lacking power
Hi Chrisw, have a question about my 2004 ST4S ABS ECU HW103. Posted a thread on the "Sport Turing" page. Can you check that out and possibly get in touch? Thanks!
blocked tank drains cause issues! Did the fuel cap hiss when you opened it? If so the fuel tank was creating vacuum and makes the fuel pump struggle to pull fuel through. I’m not sure it’s totally your issue. But the 848 evo is quicker but it’s cammed for more top end, there is a good chance that in the mid range the stock 848 is a stronger motor tbh, overall there is nothing to worry about providing your bike is in good health
Hi Phil I cant remember if it hissed, im a fireman and on duty now so i cant ride the bike until monday There are two nippels and channels in the tank, one is for breathing (that one was open and working well) The other on seems to be the overfill/water drain channel, that one was glogged 100%. I am still waiting for new sparkplugs and the diagnostic tool i bought, hope i will learn something there Best regard Michel
