  1. Took my bike out for the first time this year, had a lovely ride.

However, while I was locking up for the night with the keys out, I could hear a relay clicking and the indicators were flashing (both tail lights together). With the keys back in the front indicators worked but flashed quicker and I had a warning light on the dash.

Turned it off and on a few times until it stopped, then left it charge for a bit. Went back to it and seemed ok.

my first thoughts are that the battery needs replacing, it’s a few years old. Second thought was whether the data tool alarm was playing up.

anyone else had a similar experience?

  2. Can be an early sign that regulator and/or main connector/alternator connector playing up or corroded.

  3. Check the coil/injector/pump relay. It is on the right side of the battery box behind some hoses. There are two relays. The front one is for the fans and the rear one is the one you are after. They are a cheap part that fail regularly and cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Replace both whilst you are there.
