Hi there, I'm about to sell off a Rear Wheel assembly taken off of an 860 GTE. The bike was a non runner when I bought it and a bit of a mongrel. I'm trying to identify the Rims as they are alloy but have no visible marking on the sides. Looking through Ian Fallon's Bible it looks like the rims should be steel - or if they are an earlier 750's Alloys - would have some markings. Are there any experts out there that can shed some light on what vintage/bike it came from? Other info : painted 40 spokes - parallel edges. many thanks in advance Bob
Hi Bob, On an 860GT they're not Borranis, and they're steel on the early bikes. I'd be interested in them and any other bits you have for my 860GT.
Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes, as I suspected - Steel! I have a number of random items that I'll add to the Forum Sale area- it would just be nice to know what I'm selling
Well I'll be interested in the wheels and in the centrestand if you have it and any other bits and bobs. Could save you having to list them!
I only have the Rear Wheel assembly - I'm still using the Stand at the moment. I'm mid-way through constructing a sale list but I'm happy send you more images - or for you to make an offer..
